Prayer Is Our Powerful Weapon: Seeking God’s Counsel in Troubled Times

In today’s Biblical Alert, we turn our hearts toward Venezuela, where devastating earthquakes have brought tremendous loss and suffering, while the nation continues to face economic and governmental challenges. Reports after the June 2026 earthquakes documented over 6,000 deaths and tens of thousands reported missing or unaccounted for.

We also remember our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and the Middle East. In uncertain times, prayer remains a powerful spiritual weapon. We take up the shield of faith and the helmet of salvation, praying always and seeking the wisdom, understanding, and counsel of Almighty God.

Drawing from the biblical account of Joshua and Israel, we are reminded of the danger of making decisions without first seeking the Lord’s counsel. The choices before our families, marriages, churches, and nation matter. Even seemingly small compromises can have lasting consequences.

Before making a treaty with the enemy, seek the counsel of the Lord.

Join us as we pray, open God’s Word, and ask Him for wisdom to understand the times in which we live and the faith to walk by His counsel rather than by sight.

🙏 Pray for Venezuela. Pray for Ukraine. Pray for the Middle East. Pray for our families, churches, and nation. And above all, seek the Lord’s counsel daily.
